I am speaking at Vasta's 40th Anniversary - Changemakers conference!
I was thrilled to be asked to present at VASTA's 40th Anniversary in Lost Angeles in October 2026. I will be attending in person to discuss hypermobility and the voice: giving conference attendees a short and sweet introduction to hypermobility: how it affects our voices, and how voice teachers can work safely with hypermobile students. If you are attending please send me an email, I'd love to hear from you! Tickets: both in person and remote available! https://vasta.events/

A gentle comeback
Last December I graduated from Central's Voice MA course. Let's start with the icky bit. My EDS research was the first to look at expressive voice work for patients, and I'm proud to say I got a distinction for this research (and my degree). Although I have been encouraged there is enough data to be looking at pursuing a PhD, I think I'll need a decade to recover first! Now, If anybody ever wants to help me to do a PhD focused on EDS and voice, that is a different matter..! D

Research call-out: Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Voice
DO YOU have Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome? DO YOU know anybody with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS)? I’m researching Voice, Breath, Storytelling and Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and looking for participants to answer a questionnaire. This is my dissertation research for my Voice masters at Central and a subject that couldn't be closer to my heart. Voice and breath work is something which helps me manage my EDS: the slips, trips, faints, bad sleep, gastrop

The Show Must Go On...The Radio!
A Lockdown Prison Radio Show. The Spark is a new radio show I have been developing for the men of HMP Wandsworth, London's largest prison. With an in-person program halted in its tracks due to Covid , I've been busy configuring an interactive radio show with HMP Wandsworth where we use a different piece of writing each week to spark conversation and inspire writing.

A poem for Rikers
A teaching poem about breath I wrote for the men and women currently living on Rikers Island during the global pandemic. I always incorporate voice and breath work in my teaching and students inside would tell me it becomes a vital part of their day. This piece was part of a series where New York Dept of Corrections teaching artists were asked to deliver work remotely during the pandemic. All rights reserved.
